Loren and I are very particular about our fruit. And the other day, I bought the wrong kind of apples. Soft and slightly mushy - definitely not the honey crisp ones I thought I had picked up. So I decided to try my hand at applesauce. And why not make it in the slow cooker? It turned out amazingly delicious and was seriously one of the easiest things I have made.
SLOW COOKER APPLESAUCE
Ingredients:
12 apples, cored and cut into large chunks
1/4-1/2 cup sugar (depending on sweetness of apples)
1 cup water
1 tsp-1 tbsp cinnamon (I like a lot)
Directions:
Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
Cook on high for 4 hours.
Mix with a hand mixer.
And Enjoy!
Great for topping on ice cream, waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, etc. or just by itself!
